Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) — Kevin McCarthy was born in Bakersfield, Calif. on Jan. 26 1965 and currently represents Bakersfield as part of the 22nd district of California. McCarthy earned both his B.A. and M.B.A. at California State University, Bakersfield. He served as a trustee of Kern Community College District from 2000 to 2002, a member of the California State Assembly from 2002 to 2006, and the California Assembly Republican Leader from 2003 to 2006. McCarthy was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives on Nov. 7, 2006. He married Judy Wages in 1992 and had two children, Connor and Meghan.
