Eric Cantor Republican (Elected 2000), VA House district 7

Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) — Eric Cantor of Henrico County, Va. represents the 7th District of Virginia. Cantor was born in Henrico County on June 6, 1963. Cantor received his bachelor’s degree from George Washington University (1985), a J.D. from the College of William and Mary (1988), and a master's in real estate from Columbia University (1989). Cantor worked as an attorney for his family’s real estate business and was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1991. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives on Nov. 7, 2000. He and his wife Diana have three children: Evan, Jenna and Michael. Diana was working at Goldman Sachs when she met her future husband. She has served as a member of the board of directors of Media General Inc., the parent company of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
