SA 831. Mr. BINGAMAN submitted an amendment intended to be proposed to amendment SA 769 proposed by Mr. Vitter to the amendment SA 738 proposed by Mr. Inouye to the bill H.R. 2112, making appropriations for Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies programs for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2012, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

On page 1 of the amendment, strike line 10 and insert the following: "Act:
Provided, That notwithstanding other any provision of law, the practices and policies of the Food and Drug Administration and Bureau of Customs and Border Protection, in effect on January 1, 2004, with respect to the importation of prescription drugs into the United States by an individual, on the person of such individual, for personal use, shall remain in effect.".
